To the Editor:

Re. the Jan. 16 letter about Phil Christe, your decision to publish a letter defaming Mr. Christe demands  accountability on three levels.

1. What is your explanation for printing a vile and unfair attack oil a person in our community? Even if there had been a response by Mr. Christe, by being an accomplice in a tactic that can only harm a person and do no good, the standards Of Your newspaper have been breached.

2. What is it that prompted the co presidents of Fox Lane Association to issue false statements in a rash and reckless action that certainly they had no right to take in the name of the high school parents'? I am a high school parent and was at this meeting". There was a request by Dr. Nieburg, an elected trustee on the Board of Education, to not video parents making comments at the meeting; he also agreed to allow for taping of his introductory remarks. The parents were not asked for their opinion and that was, I thought, the end of it. From what did this malevolent letter, with its labels and ad hominem remarks, arise.

3. What is Dr. Nieburg's response' I believe that if he does not disassociate himself from the comments made in this letter, he must risk being, seen as the instigator of them.
